Massachusetts – Boston City DBA Certificates

The City of Boston has sent notification that they will no longer accept the general Commonwealth of Massachusetts business certificate “DBA” form. Boston will require use of their own Boston specific format.

This puts Boston in league with many Massachusetts towns and cities who already require use of their own form. It is always best to check with the specific city or town first before assuming that the general form will be acceptable.

Business Certificate filings in Massachusetts are handled at the Town (City) level by the corresponding Town or City Clerk’s office.
